Application & Care Instructions for Gentle Ink Temporary Tattoos

Colour-First Temporary Tattoo Instructions

✨ A creative tool for calming anxious thoughts ✨

Important: These instructions are for our Gentle Ink Pre-Colour Temporary Tattoos, where you colour the design before applying it to your skin.

Step 1: Colour Your Tattoo

Before applying your tattoo, it's time to make it your own!

Recommended Materials

Coloured pencils (pencil crayons)

✅ Acrylic paint markers

✅ Face paint markers

Do NOT use:

❌ Permanent markers

❌ Alcohol-based markers

Colouring Tips

  • Place the tattoo sheet on a hard, flat surface while colouring.

  • Press lightly for softer colours.

  • Press harder for darker colours when using coloured pencils.

  • If using markers, avoid pressing too hard, as this can damage the tattoo material.

Step 2: Add the Adhesive Sheet

Your order includes a blank adhesive sheet that turns your coloured design into a temporary tattoo.

  1. Place your coloured tattoo page on a flat surface.

  2. Peel up a small corner of the adhesive sheet backing.

  3. Carefully line up the adhesive sheet with the coloured side of your tattoo.

  4. Stick down the exposed corner first.

  5. Slowly peel away the backing while smoothing the adhesive sheet onto the tattoo using a credit card or ruler.

  6. Firmly rub over the entire design with the card or ruler to avoid air bubbles and ensure the adhesive transfers properly.

You should now have a clear plastic layer covering your artwork.

Step 3: Prepare Your Tattoo

  1. Carefully cut around your design.

  2. Leave only a small border around the artwork.

This helps:

  • Reduce lint buildup

  • Improve the appearance

  • Help the tattoo last longer

Before Applying

For best results:

  • Apply after showering.

  • Avoid showering, swimming, or soaking the tattoo for the first 24 hours.

  • Make sure your skin is clean and dry.

  • Do not use lotion, oil, or moisturizer beforehand.

  • Avoid applying over body hair. Trim or shave the area first if needed (do not dry shave).

Step 4: Apply Your Tattoo

  1. Remove the clear plastic layer from the front of the tattoo.

    • If the adhesive starts lifting, press it back down and rub firmly with your card or ruler.

  2. Place the tattoo face-down on your skin.

  3. Choose a flat area such as:

    • Forearm

    • Upper arm

    • Shoulder

    • Calf

  4. Press a wet paper towel firmly over the back of the tattoo.

  5. Hold until the paper backing slides off easily.

  6. Let the tattoo dry completely.

  7. Apply a pea-sized amount of sunscreen over the tattoo and around the edges.

This helps reduce shine and gives the tattoo a more natural appearance.

Let It Set

Try to avoid large movements for about 20 minutes after applying.

If any edges start lifting, simply press them back down with a damp paper towel.

Care Tips

To help your tattoo last longer:

✅ Gently wash dirty edges with soap and water.

✅ Carefully remove any lint that collects around the edges.

✅ Avoid lotions, oils, and moisturizers on or around the tattoo.

✅ Be careful with moisturizing body washes and soaps.

✅ Avoid clothing that sheds a lot of lint if possible.

How Long Does It Last?

The tattoo is waterproof and can last up to 5 days with proper care.

Removing Your Tattoo

  1. Apply baby oil or lotion to the tattoo.

  2. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes.

  3. Apply another layer and wait again.

  4. Once the tattoo becomes sticky, gently rub it away with a soft cloth and more oil if needed.

Tip: Baby oil usually removes the tattoo faster than lotion.
